In conjunction with DMG and STUDIOCANAL’S upcoming theatrical 3D conversion of one of the most celebrated films of all time, “Terminator 2: Judgment Day”, the toy manufacturer NECA announced several months ago that a new figure would be released in celebration of this historic occasion. Now, NECA has finally previewed this long awaited T2 in 3D exclusive figure to the public.
NECA’s new Terminator 2: Judgment Day 3D figure is another 7 inch “Galleria” version of the iconic T-800 Model 101. We all know the scene, where in suspenseful slow-motion through the access hallways of the Galleria, the Terminator pulls out a shotgun hidden in a box of roses to save the young John Connor from the deadly T-1000.
The 7” scale action figure features the likeness of Arnold Schwarzenegger and over 25 points of articulation. It comes with two interchangeable head sculpts, pistol, and a shotgun that fits inside the included rose box. The window box packaging features the new 3D release logo and branding.
While any Terminator fan would consider this new figure a stunning addition to their action figure collection, it is important to note that this collectible can be seen as a re-release of sorts, considering it appears to be based on old NECA T2 sculpt designs for the torso and face. However, it does seem to have new articulated legs.. we just wish it came with roses!
This figure is due to be available the first half of 2017, timed with the film’s release.
We’ll be back!
