Hot on the heels of the T2 Endo Arm Special Edition Blu-Ray set being postponed indefinitely (reported HERE), the single disc release of the “Terminator 2: Judgment Day 3D/4K” has been delayed yet again! This time, the release date has been benched until December!
It was only this past July when it was announced that the remastered “Terminator 2: Judgment Day” was coming to home video this October 3rd in the United States, with international releases in a small radius of that date. Many U.S fans were frustrated enough with a lack of 3D disc, only to have it compounded with a delay pushing it back until late October/early November depending on what country you resided in. Well now according to Studiocanal’s U.K. division, the release has been pushed back yet again, this time until December. (We assume the rest of the countries will follow suit.)
To make matters worse, at press time, the giant online retailer Amazon has removed all of the remastered “Terminator 2: Judgment Day” pre-order options in the United States. They are simply gone.
With the request of anonymity, we were contacted by an employee of an international retailer which happens to be a Terminator fan, and this person claims they have seen an upswing in pre-order cancellations for T2 in 3D’s Home Video release (especially with the Endo arm set) that this employee attributes to the delay.
So what is going on Studiocanal? The handling of T2 in 3D’s home video release is very disconcerting to say the least.
We’ll be back.
