As many Terminator fans have speculated, it looks like audiences will finally be able to watch “Terminator 2: Judgment Day” in a 3-D format, arriving in theaters across the world in 2016! The 3-D conversion debut of this beloved sci-fi classic will be smartly aligned with the celebration of its 25th Anniversary. (Yes, you read that right. Next year it will be 25 years since T2’s original release date. Time flies by fast.. especially when it concerns movies about time travel!)
This is an open letter to Chief Executive Officer David Ellison and Chief Creative Officer Dana Goldberg of Skydance Productions:
Dear Ms. Goldberg & Mr. Ellison,
We are writing to you on behalf of the thousands of Terminator fans who support and subscribe to SKYNETSARMY.com. We hope you will take the time to consider our following request.
Among the many unique retailer exclusives trumpeted for the Blu-ray + DVD + Digital HD release of “Terminator Genisys”, (Bonus Disc, Steelbook, Collectible Endoskull, etc.), there was another version made available that included an exclusive 22 page Comic Book related to the new film. Comparably to the other exclusives, it oddly received a quiet launch. Today, we’ll unbox that exclusive and let you know what you may have missed!
“The new film, which in my mind I think of as the third film, we see Arnold take the character even farther.” “I feel like the franchise has been reinvigorated. Like this is a renaissance.”
-James Cameron on TERMINATOR GENISYS
The world wide web can be a wonderful, endless source of information. Unfortunately, it also can be a great cancerous swell of of misinformation as well. It can be a place where someone can form an opinion that defies reality yet still preach it as gospel, with total disregard to any facts that are presented (simply because the said person disagrees with the results of those facts).
So when a ill-informed Terminator fan (who simply hated Skydance’s new film) challenged us last week regarding James Cameron’s involvement with.. appreciation towards.. and financial compensation from Skydance’s “Terminator Genisys”, we felt it was time to set the record straight. In doing so, we hope fellow Genisys fans who are challenged in the same way in the future can use this article to easily rebut them.

Among fans of the Terminator films, there has been an outspoken minority that have beaten the same drum for a dozen years now on how to restore the Terminator franchise back to its glory days (when the visionary James Cameron wrote and directed the films.) Their mantra is deliberate and consistent, focusing on two key points that (to them) are necessary to have a great Terminator film: It must have an adult “R” (UK-18) rating and it should have little-to-no comedy. That same drum is being beaten again as Skydance Productions informed the public that they are “readjusting” the way they approach the next Terminator film and deciding if (and how) they will proceed with the “Genisys” Trilogy. Now more than ever, it’s time to dispel these two age-old arguments.
Coming off the heels of numerous news reports that the Terminator: Genisys trilogy was placed on “hold indefinitely” due to its struggling domestic box office earnings and less than enthusiastic critical response, Skydance Media Chief Creative Officer Dana Goldberg weighed in today on the future of the Terminator franchise. Here is what she had to say about their plans being on hold: Continue reading The TERMINATOR Franchise is reportedly not on hold, but in a state of “readjustment”.
Are you worried that Terminator 6 and 7 is officially cancelled? WELL DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!!! Tell Skydance Productions and Paramount Pictures that the rest of the “Terminator Genisys” TRILOGY should be made!
Sign this petition and agree with the Terminator creator James Cameron that “Terminator: Genisys” was the first sequel worthy to the original classic films T1 and T2, and the rest of the new Trilogy needs to be filmed!
Several weeks ago we pondered what did the future hold for the Terminator Franchise considering the lukewarm response it received from both at the box office and from critics and audiences alike. One of our possible timelines we suggested was “the studio heads might acknowledge that they dodged a bullet, be content they didn’t lose any money and shelve all future Terminator projects (including the planned Terminator television series)”. Well according to a source at the The Hollywood Reporter, that final speculation may have come true.
