It’s a sad day for Terminator fans. Any hope we had about writer and director James Cameron returning soon to direct a new Terminator film either with Skydance.. or when he reacquires the rights in 2019.. was squashed today at the 20th Century Fox panel at CinemaCon.
Gale Anne Hurd, producer and co-writer of the 1984 science fiction classic “The Terminator” (as well as executive producer of both “Terminator 2: Judgment Day” and “Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines” and ex-wife to Cameron himself) revealed her history with the Terminator franchise might not be over!
Did you happen to miss some or all of our latest TERMINATOR TRIVIA postings on our Facebook Page? Well don’t fret, we’ve collected all of these tasty Terminator tidbits into a single volume that you can read here! And who knows, even the most die-hard Terminator Fans might just learn something new about the franchise we all hold near and dear to our hearts!
It’s been 48 hours since we officially asked Skydance and James Cameron to confirm or debunk this rumor that the legendary director is considering returning to the fantastic universe of “The Terminator ” that he created so long ago. Fans have been dreaming of the day when the father of the franchise would come back to his roots and write (as well as direct) the next installment of this beloved franchise we hold near and dear to our hearts.
A day ago we were contacted by someone who said they are related to a key member involved in the T6 discussions we are about to describe to you. We were asked not to release their name, nor relation, nor reprint any of their message to us. This person said they contacted SkynetsArmy.com because we were the largest supportive fan base for “Terminator Genisys”, liked our petition to continue the Genisys storyline and wanted to share with us what he or she knew about what was currently going on behind-the-scenes.
As many Terminator fans have speculated, it looks like audiences will finally be able to watch “Terminator 2: Judgment Day” in a 3-D format, arriving in theaters across the world in 2016! The 3-D conversion debut of this beloved sci-fi classic will be smartly aligned with the celebration of its 25th Anniversary. (Yes, you read that right. Next year it will be 25 years since T2’s original release date. Time flies by fast.. especially when it concerns movies about time travel!)
“The new film, which in my mind I think of as the third film, we see Arnold take the character even farther.” “I feel like the franchise has been reinvigorated. Like this is a renaissance.”
-James Cameron on TERMINATOR GENISYS
The world wide web can be a wonderful, endless source of information. Unfortunately, it also can be a great cancerous swell of of misinformation as well. It can be a place where someone can form an opinion that defies reality yet still preach it as gospel, with total disregard to any facts that are presented (simply because the said person disagrees with the results of those facts).
So when a ill-informed Terminator fan (who simply hated Skydance’s new film) challenged us last week regarding James Cameron’s involvement with.. appreciation towards.. and financial compensation from Skydance’s “Terminator Genisys”, we felt it was time to set the record straight. In doing so, we hope fellow Genisys fans who are challenged in the same way in the future can use this article to easily rebut them.
