What an exciting time! As we wait for an announcement soon from David Ellison at Skydance in regards to his and James Cameron’s plans for Terminator 6 , it appears actor Arnold Schwarzenegger has partially ‘let the cat out of the bag’! Per our friends at TheArnoldFans.com, actor Arnold Schwarzenegger made some exciting reveals about the next film in the Terminator franchise, including the plan to start filming the beginning of next year, early in 2018!
Unlike “Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines” and “Terminator Salvation”, fans everywhere knew that the creator of our favorite franchise, James Cameron actually had some involvement with the latest Terminator film “Terminator Genisys”. Acknowledging that his goal was “being loosely attached to the film” without credit, all while accepting meetings between him and Skydance C.E.O. David Ellison (as well as writer Laeta Kalogridis) and offering story contributions, it is factual to say that Cameron did indeed help shape what “Terminator Genisys” ultimately became.
Humans are no match for Terminators, but that doesn’t mean that lawyers aren’t! New lawsuits filed by the visual-effects company Rearden accuse Paramount’s “Terminator Genisys” of using stolen technology to create the young 1984 computer generated Arnold Schwarzenegger. You remember the scene… a time travelling standoff in Griffith Park between actor Arnold Schwarzenegger and a digitized version of his younger self.
When “News Corp Australia Network” (NCAN) sat down recently with Terminator creator James Cameron, the visionary director revealed not only that he wanted “Terminator 6” to be the start of a new trilogy, but hinted on what fans might expect in his new series of films. And what we can expect is a transition from the old Terminator films, to a brand new storyline.
Well now it’s getting exciting Terminator fans! The “News Corp Australia Network” (NCAN) had an opportunity to sit down with the creator of the Terminator franchise himself, James Cameron, and during that conversation Cameron revealed that he not only wants to make “Terminator 6”, but a seventh and eighth Terminator film as well! Yes, James Cameron wants to make a new trilogy… but he has to clear some copyright hurdles first.
Here at Skynet’s Army: Terminator Fans United, we have always believed our strength is in our numbers, and every Terminator fan has an equal voice to appreciate what they choose in this wonderful science fiction franchise (without condemnation or judgment). And adhering to that mission statement, unlike other outlets, we will not tell you what you should want in “Terminator 6”. Instead. we asked to hear from our Army directly, and report on their hopes of what direction Skydance and James Cameron should take T6… and the future of the Terminator franchise. And this is what Terminator fans had to say:
This past March, when Skydance chief David Ellison revealed that a major announcement about the Terminator franchise was coming in 2017, fans were elated. At that point, “Terminator 6” news had already broke that James Cameron would be involved (which Cameron confirmed), and we later learned that Arnold Schwarzenegger expected to be involved as well. Actually, the only thing remaining to be confirmed (other than the nature of the movie itelf and the distributor) is the announcement that Tim Miller will be directing “Terminator 6”.
The “Avatar” marathon has begun. The creator of the Terminator franchise James Cameron has just announced that he has begun production on the four anticipated sequels to the most successful film of all time: “Avatar”.
When the news broke two days ago (reported here) that actor Arnold Schwarzenegger revealed he would be back for “Terminator 6”, some Terminator fans were understandably suspicious. Arnold Schwarzenegger has a track record of optimism (sometimes against all odds) and never seems to say “no” to what the fans want to hear. We even wrote an article about it a year ago titled “TERMINATOR 6 : When Schwarzenegger talks, sometimes listen.”. Well this time, we feel fans should definitely listen.
He’ll be back Terminator fans! While promoting his new film “Aftermath” that is opening in theaters and video on demand this weekend, actor Arnold Schwarzenegger dropped a big bombshell in a recent interview when he revealed he will be back for “Terminator 6”. Boom!
Back in February of 2016, we were contacted by someone who asked to remain anonymous and claimed they were related to a key member involved in “Terminator 6” discussions. This insider claimed to have news to share about James Cameron rentering the creative fold with Skydance to work on a new Terminator film. Then, as T6 news broke almost a year later, it turned out our contact indeed was correct in regards to Cameron’s return. But that wasn’t the only thing this scooper was correct about.
